Thermotech Systems Ltd. is an internationally recognised eco-energy company that manufactures industrial heating equipment and systems, including turnkey solutions, hot water generators, hot air generators, water bath heaters and crude oil heaters. Based in the GIDC industrial area of Vatva, Gujarat, it serves clients across chemicals, textiles, paints, oil and gas, rubber, automobiles, plywood, MDF, leather, solar and latex.
With a portfolio spanning more than 3,000 projects and 2,700 clients, Thermotech operates in the B2B space, where work involves constant field visits for installation, servicing, equipment and inventory management and logistics.
THE CHALLENGE
Every Fix Needed an Engineer on a Plane
Every installation or service issue traditionally required a senior engineer to travel to the client site, adding cost and delay. Junior technicians and contractors on site often needed expert guidance on the spot — for example, on the correct orientation and placement of components.
- Every installation or service issue required a senior engineer to travel to the client site, adding cost and delay.
- Junior technicians and contractors on site often needed expert guidance on the spot for tasks like correct component orientation and placement.
- Travel, engineer visits and site downtime added up on both Thermotech’s and its clients’ sides.
- During the COVID lockdown, physical visits were not possible at all, putting production-critical fixes at risk.
THE SOLUTION
Expert Guidance, No Travel Required
Thermotech adopted Plutomen Connect, an AR powered remote assistance and video collaboration platform, to guide its erection and service teams directly from its head office. Experts can now see exactly what the technician on site sees, point out flaws in erection, and walk junior staff through installation and troubleshooting in real time, without travelling to the field.
The same platform is used to troubleshoot supplied equipment at client sites by bringing Thermotech’s service team and the client’s operations team into one live session, which removes avoidable travel for both parties.
THE RESULTS
Real Savings, Zero Travel
- At a client site (M/s. Oswin), a contractor was unsure about the orientation and placement of a coil and the client asked for a senior expert. Using Plutomen Connect, Thermotech guided the junior technician to place and orient the coil correctly, saving a total of ₹27,000 (₹12,000 for Thermotech and ₹15,000 for the client).
- During the lockdown, a burner tuning issue was resolved entirely over Plutomen Connect by connecting the client engineer with the burner specialist. This avoided a production loss and saved ₹70,000 for the client and ₹4,000 for Thermotech — ₹74,000 in total on a single fix.
- Fewer engineer site visits, lower travel cost and faster resolution for both Thermotech and its customers, with zero travel required to resolve remote issues.
With Plutomen Connect, Thermotech has turned its senior experts into a resource the entire field network can reach instantly. The company now resolves installation and servicing issues remotely, protects client production and reduces cost on both sides, even when travel is not an option.
