Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML) is one of India's leading private power distribution companies, delivering reliable electricity to more than 3 million consumers across Mumbai. It operates an extensive network of consumer substations, transformers, switchgear and associated electrical infrastructure.

To maintain uninterrupted supply and the highest standards of safety, AEML continuously invests in training and upskilling its frontline workforce. Its engineers and technicians conduct routine Consumer Substation (CSS) inspections to detect abnormalities early, maintain equipment health and ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.

THE CHALLENGE

AEML wanted a scalable digital training platform that could deliver training standardization, immersive practice, multilingual learning and role automation, while improving VR readiness, progress tracking, inspection accuracy and operational preparedness.

THE SOLUTION

A Role-Based VR Training Ecosystem

Plutomen designed and delivered an immersive VR based CSS Inspection Training Module, deployed on the Meta Quest App Store, to digitally transform how technical inspection training is conducted across critical operational teams. The solution offers structured, role based training experiences with enterprise grade features.

Before entering the VR environment, users complete onboarding and safety validation, including a health condition screening, a safety acknowledgement and VR usage guidance. Training modules are then assigned dynamically based on each trainee’s role and responsibilities.

Inside an interactive CSS inspection environment, trainees navigate inspection zones, interact with equipment and follow standard procedures across general inspection, switchgear, LT panel, substation building, distribution transformer and APFC panel, in a realistic virtual setting.
